PATCH/projects/{slug}

Partial update of name and/or slug. Project slugs are unique per product, so the uniqueness check for a new slug runs inside the project's own product and ?product=<productSlug> may be needed to resolve the project in the first place. Unlike the product route, the new slug is validated as-is rather than slugified, so send a slug that already matches ^[a-z0-9]+(?:-[a-z0-9]+)*$. Projects cannot be moved between products over the API - there is no product field in the body. Icons are not settable here.

Requires the projects:write scope.

400Bad Request

request.body_must_be_json - the body is absent or not parseable as JSON. error is null on this branch; branch on the 400 status.
request.body_invalid - name or slug fails length or slug-pattern validation. error is null on this branch.

401Unauthorized

auth.api_key_required - the Authorization header is missing, or its value does not start with ev_sk_.
auth.api_key_not_found - the key is unknown, inactive or revoked.
auth.api_key_user_missing - the key is valid but its owner no longer exists.
auth.api_key_owner_not_member - the key's owner is no longer a member of the key's workspace.

402Payment Required

plan.upgrade_required - the project is locked because it exceeds the plan's project allowance.

403Forbidden

auth.scope_missing - the key lacks projects:write.
auth.key_project_restricted - the project is not in the key's project allowlist.
auth.product_restricted - the project's product is private and the key owner holds no grant on it.
auth.workspace_two_factor_required - the workspace requires two-factor authentication and the key's owner has not turned it on.

404Not Found

project.not_found - no project matches in scope for this key. error is null on this branch.

409Conflict

project.ambiguous_product - the slug resolves to projects in more than one product; retry with ?product=<productSlug>. error is null on this branch.
project.slug_conflict - another project in the same product already owns the new slug. error is null on this branch.

413Payload Too Large

request.body_too_large - the request body is larger than 1 MiB (1,048,576 bytes).

500Internal Server Error

server.error - an unexpected error; retry with backoff.
